The Fair Housing Center of West Michigan is a private, non-profit fair housing organization committed to providing comprehensive fair housing services, including education, outreach, research, advocacy and enforcement.
The FHCWM ensures that everyone in the community has equal opportunity to choose housing that’s right for them. Throughout Michigan, the FHCWM works cooperatively with governmental and community-based agencies to further fair housing goals. The FHCWM investigates claims of illegal housing discrimination, assists claimants in litigation and/or administrative enforcement action, conducts testing to determine compliance with federal and state laws and provides practical education to rental, sales and lending professionals, any organization or professional with a role in the housing industry and home-seekers.
The FHCWM serves 12 counties in western Michigan: Allegan, Grand Traverse, Ionia, Isabella, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, and Ottawa.
