The Oakland County Legal Resources Center (LRC) in the Oakland County Courthouse, Building 14 East - 2nd Floor, at 1200 N. Telegraph in Pontiac. The Self-Help Center is staffed by a navigator who can help visitors use the Michigan Legal Help website to gain information about how to handle simple civil legal matters. The Self-Help Center is open to assistance by phone only.

In addition to the website, self-help center staff (called ‘navigators’) will be available to help visitors find what they need on the website, answer questions about court practices and processes, and answer simple questions about forms that are available on the website.  Navigators cannot give legal advice.

The Legal Aid and Defender Association Outreach Clinic offers free telephonic legal clinics to low-income individuals. These telephonic clinics are held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every other Wednesday. The clinics focus on civil law issues only for individuals and families. Attorneys will inform individuals about court procedures and forms, will advise them of their rights, and in some cases represent them in court. The clinics are available to residents of Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties. Those who wish to participate in a clinic can contact the LRC on the Monday or Tuesday prior to the clinic. Legal Aid and Defender Association will contact the participant for intake and follow-up.
